The ratings on iVoterguide are not an endorsement of a candidate, nor do they indicate a candidate’s chances of winning. A team of iVoterGuide volunteers researched each candidate to assess how they may vote if elected. Working as independent teams, iVoterGuide then assigns a score to each candidate, ranging from Liberal to Conservative, based on each candidate's public and online statements, financial disclosures, endorsements, survey responses, and past voting records and research.
Statewide judicial candidates and select school board races are also available by the iVoterGuide staff and volunteers. Use the guide as one of the tools available for you to be an educated voter.

The North Carolina BallotTrax system tracks the status of your Absentee Ballot. The system can send a series of proactive alerts notifying you at every step of the election process. This is the way you can know your mail-in ballot has been received and accepted.
The deadline to register to vote or update your voter registration by mail in the upcoming 2026 general election is October 9th at 5pm.
You may visit any Early Voting location (October 15 to October 31) for the option of same-day registration during one-stop early voting.
You must be registered to vote on Election Day, November 3rd.
Sample ballots will be posted as soon as they are available.
To view your sample ballot, registered voters must enter their information into the voter search tool and navigate to “Your Sample Ballot.”
The early voting begins on Thursday, October 15, 2026, and ends at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
During early voting, voters may cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county, and would-be voters may register and vote. Hours and days may vary by location and county. Find your county's early voting sites below:
General Election: November 3rd
Polling places will be open from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. Any voter in line at their assigned polling place at 7:30 pm will be able to vote.
Same-day voter registration is not available on Primary Election day. If you are not registered, you are unable to vote.
